Associate Attorney

Keith C. Cox is an Associate Attorney with Paletz Law who joined the firm in February 2026 and practices in the areas of Landlord-Tenant law and General Civil Litigation. His legal career spans over two decades of dedicated practice in multiple fields, including insurance subrogation, medical collections, and landlord-tenant collections.

Keith earned his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where he demonstrated exceptional academic distinction, receiving the Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence and the State Bar of Michigan Negligence Law Section Scholarship. He served on the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review and earned CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for achieving the top grade in both the Torts course and the Evidence Seminar. While in law school, he also served as a Legal Intern in the Appellate Division of the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Ann Arbor.

Before law school, Keith earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree from the University of Michigan, where he also served as President and Captain of the Water Polo Club.

He later achieved a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude, from Eastern Michigan University, where he received the Outstanding Second-Bachelor’s Student Award. Prior to his career as a practicing attorney,  Keith gained substantial legal experience at Ford Motor Credit Company, progressing through roles in garnishment, litigation support, and collections, where he reviewed pleadings, analyzed accounts for collectability and litigation exposure, and supervised defense matters and counterclaims across the Northeast Region of the United States.

Keith is a longtime member of both the Michigan Bar Association and the Michigan Creditors Bar Association, affiliations he has maintained since beginning his practice.
