The Courts Are Backed Up But We Are Not Sitting Idly By

December 11th, 2024 | By: Matthew I. Paletz, Esq.

As we look forward to celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2025, our commitment to our clients continues to be what fuels us every day.

And as 2024 draws to a close, we probably don’t have to tell you about the struggles that are ongoing with the courts right now. Simply put, many are grossly behind in scheduling. This is due to suffering from a shortage of personnel, dealing with judicial transition and struggling to adapt to new technology. We are not sitting idly by.

Paletz Law CEO Matthew Paletz has made some measurable strides in a number of Michigan courts. This has led to them opening up additional docket times and reallocating clerk personnel from other departments to focus on their landlord-tenant case backlog. This is yet another example of the behind-the-scenes work we are engaged in to provide expertise and attention to detail to every case that comes through the Firm.

Other innovations that we have employed include development of an abandoned title department to address the increase in abandoned mobile homes in Michigan. Our Firm has become a leader in obtaining transfer of titles for our clients, and no other landlord-tenant firm is comparable.

This is while we continue to make gains for our clients in other practice areas such as:

  • Fair Housing Defense
  • Protecting Creditors’ Rights in Bankruptcy
  • Appeals
  • Claim and Delivery (repossession of mobile homes)

The Bottom Line: Paletz Law continues to be the most consistent advocate for landlords and property managers. We take pride in being our clients’ trusted partners and never take that for granted. Here’s wishing all of you success in the coming year.
