Celebrating 30 Years: Winning While Defending Your Rights

July 2nd, 2025 | By: Paletz Law Press

Since its formation 30 years ago, Paletz Law has transitioned to one of the largest Real Estate firms in the Midwest, defending the rights of and advocating for our landlord and property manager clients.

Originally founded by CEO Matthew Paletz’s mother, Susan Paletz, the firm has since evolved to feature lawyers who are wholly focused on defending landlords’ rights and protecting their investments every day.

In its 30th year, Paletz Law has expanded its attorney roster and services despite navigating giant obstacles ranging from the Great Recession to a family business succession and a global pandemic, which saw two years of unprecedented disruption to the property management sector. Paletz Law has also set itself apart by becoming a business consultant, technology innovator, and strategic partner for its clients.

Offering Legal Services to Comprehensive Solutions

In the last 30 years, Paletz Law has also transformed how landlords approach the legal process. Its integration solutions work seamlessly with most common rental management software platforms, while Paletz Portal, the firm’s proprietary technology, provides real-time case monitoring. The Portal empowers clients to track eviction cases, improve delinquency management, and increase efficiency throughout the legal process.

A Deep Bench Matters

Paletz Law’s deep roster of now 15 landlord-tenant attorneys brings over 150 years of collective legal experience to every case. But the firm also understands that turning non-paying rental units into positive cash flow isn’t just about legal expertise but improving economic occupancy and maximizing profitability.

Diverse and Experienced Service Providers

From large multi-state operators and third-party management companies to small privately held organizations, Paletz Law serves clients across the real estate spectrum. Whether managing multi-family, affordable housing, or manufactured housing communities, its deep bench can adapt to any unique challenges. Its staff is fully versed and experienced in helping landlord and property owner clients tackle issues ranging from landlord-tenant disputes to creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, fair housing defense, real estate litigation, claim and delivery (replevin), collections consultation, property management, small claims removal, lease drafting and review, risk management and compliance.

Looking Ahead

Entering its fourth decade, the firm’s commitment remains unchanged: matching client entrepreneurial enthusiasm with dynamic legal skill and technological innovation.  The firm continues to innovate, integrate, and advocate zealously for property owners throughout Michigan and Ohio. From developing new technology to meeting with legislative leaders regarding bills affecting our clients’ daily business, Paletz Law is consistently working to make our clients more successful.

Here’s to 30 years of protecting real estate investments and many more years of turning legal challenges into business opportunities for Paletz Law clients.
