CEO Mathew I. Paletz Quoted in Crain’s Detroit Business

Detroit’s rental housing environment continues to be complicated. Matt was quoted to give his take on what the city and the courts need to do to support landlords. Landlord advocates have generally taken the position that Detroit is simply a hard place to do business and that significant red tape makes even obtaining a certificate of compliance from the city difficult. “The (city) bureaucracy has to take some ownership here,” said Matthew Paletz, CEO of Paletz Law, a Troy-based law firm that represents residential landlords around metro Detroit and elsewhere. Paletz said he’s had no involvement in the Munoz matter but said as a general matter that he doesn’t see much follow-through from city officials despite talk about trying to cut red tape.
